CHAIN LINK FENCING

Chain link fence also referred to as cyclone fence is a type of woven fence usually made from galvanized or LLDPE-coated steel wire. The wires run vertically and are bent into a zig-zag pattern so that each “zig” hooks with the wire immediately on one side and each “zag” with the wire immediately on the other. This forms the characteristic diamond pattern seen in this type of fence.

There are many applications in which chain link fence may be used ranging from residential, commercial or high security. Chain link fence involves a variety of parts and fittings to make it all come together to form the final installed product. There is the wire which can also be referred to as fabric or mesh by some professionals and terminal posts or “pull” posts. Then of course there are the line or intermediate posts most commonly spaced 10′ apart. The top rail which is a smaller diameter pipe that runs horizontal to the ground on the top of the fence. And finally the fittings that make it all come together.

Chain link fence is most commonly seen in recreation settings such as baseball fields and backstops, tennis courts, pickel ball courts and outdoor basketball courts.
